In 1971 the first Kwik Fit centre opened in Edinburgh followed in 1987 by the founding of the specialist Kwik Fit Fleet division. So this year we celebrate 20 years of continued growth and award winning service as market leader in the fast fi t repair and replacement market.
As Europe’s market leader, the Kwik Fit brand is distinctive, trusted and respected and has continued to grow through investment in its core products as well as the introduction of new products and services including tyres, exhausts, brakes, batteries, suspension, servicing, air conditioning and glass repair.
Investing more than £3 million annually in training programmes in four training centres in the UK, including a purpose built training academy, our commitment to constantly improving our service to our fleet customers has resulted in an unprecedented 63 fleet industry awards since launch
Kwik Fit Fleet is part of the Kwik Fit Group, owned by PAI, a leading European private equity firm with offices in Paris,
London, Madrid and Milan. Kwik Fit operates from almost 2,000 service points across Europe and includes Kwik Fit Netherlands, Speedy in France and Pit-Stop in Germany. The company services the requirements of more than 7.5 million motorists a year in the UK alone, solves a motorist’s problem every eight seconds and is Europe’s largest fast-fit services provider.
Kwik Fit Fleet is well known for the traditional, core fast-fit products, specialising in the repair and replacement of the most frequently required automotive parts and getting your fleet of vehicles back on the road as quickly as possible.
Any one of our 670 centres will supply and fit tyres, exhausts, batteries, shock absorbers and brakes from the extensive stock range of branded products.
As the fleet market continues to evolve, the company is expanding its services to meet the growing demands of fleet operators and van and company car drivers. Around 300 of Kwik Fit’s nationwide network are now equipped to undertake interim and full services on all makes of vehicles and all 300 centres are capable of undertaking MOTs.
In addition, Kwik Fit Fleet has expanded its range of services to company car and van drivers with the introduction of air conditioning recharging. The fixed price service takes 45 minutes to complete including removing remaining refrigerant, leak checks and refill to manufacturer’s specification.
The latest service for 2007 is windscreen repair, a fast, efficient and cost effective repair process that works by injecting a liquid acrylic resin into the damaged glass. The resin is cured by the use of long wave ultra violet light.
A People BusinessAlthough we pride ourselves in the breadth and quality of our products and services, they are, after all, only as good as the people we employ. Supported and trained to be the best in the industry, through four training centres in the UK including a purpose built academy, Kwik Fit staff can work towards nationally recognised qualifications. Investing more than £3 million in training programmes annually the company is recognised as one of the top businesses for staff training in the UK engineering, technology and manufacturing sectors.
Duty of care will remain at the top of fleets’ agendas in 2007 and we expect to see that translate into an increasing number of organisations turning to Kwik Fit Mobile for regular tyre health checks on vehicles in company car parks.
Additionally, that same health and safety focus will be reflected in our centres undertaking more brake inspection and replacement work under our Brake Safety Programme.
Kwik Fit’s dominance in the fleet fast-fit market and its programme of continual investment has kept the company ahead of its rivals in many respects. And that shows in the continued industry awards the company receives. From “Best Service Provider” in the 2007 Van Fleetworld awards to “Fleet Service Company of the Year” in the annual Fleet News Awards – a total of 63 awards since launch. An impressive record by any standards from a company that understands the need to maintain high standards.
