The Goodwood Festival of Speed is just a few weeks away and Michelin is promising to bring a trio of supercars to the UK for the very first time at this year’s festival.
The theme for this year’s Festival of Speed, which is now in its 22nd year, is ‘flat out and fearless’ and promises to draw inspiration from some of the legends of motorsport who gave their all to come out on top. From Gilles Villeneuve and Rene Arnoux’s bumper to bumper battle at the 1979 French Grand Prix to Lewis Hamilton’s last gasp fifth place finish at the 2008 Brazilian Grand Prix to lift his first Formula One World Championship.
The annual festival held in the grounds of Goodwood House in West Sussex every June really is the ultimate destination for all petrolheads, combining track events with the chance to see some of the most exclusive cars in the world, both classic and new. 2015 looks to continue this trend of bringing rare and sort-after cars to the UK for the first time.
Michelin has revealed its line-up for its stand which includes a clutch of UK debuts. For the first time in Britain, festival-goers will get a glimpse of the Koenigsegg Regera (pictured), the Aston Martin Vantage GT12 and the Zenvo ST1. This could well be your only chance to see these prized cars as the Vantage GT12 is limited to a production run of just 100. Meanwhile the Swedish-made Regera will be limited to just 80 units worldwide and can be yours for a paltry £2million when released in December 2016.
All three models come with cutting-edge Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres as original equipment to help push the boundaries of performance, safety and sheer driving pleasure. Michelin knows a thing or two about this year’s festival theme – flat out and fearless - and the Pilot Super Sport range are road legal, track focussed tyres that incorporate technology developed from 17 consecutive victories at the Le Mans 24 Hour Race.
Michelin’s 2015 Festival of Speed stand will also feature several other must-see vehicles including the Noble M600 Speedster, the Alpina XD3 and a historic Williams FW25 Grand Prix racing car from 2003.
