Apprenticeships - Frequently Asked Questions

What is the next stage of the process?

If you are successful with the online application then you will be contacted by the Training Department to go through a short telephone interview.

What is a telephone interview?

This is just a short conversation to ask you a few questions regarding your application

How will I know if I have been successful or unsuccessful?

We will write to you to inform you if you have been successful/unsuccessful as soon as possible.

How long will this take?

It depends on when you apply. We will be taking applications up to and including 30th June 2008 therefore we won’t be in a position to make some decisions until June.

If I’m successful when will I start?

We will be holding inductions throughout August in Loughborough

What’s an induction?

The induction is a 3 day event where we go through some basics about working for Kwik Fit

Do we stay over?

Yes, we will supply you with your travel to Loughborough, accommodation and food. All you need is yourself and some clothes.

What happens then?

The next stage is to attend a course in your local Training Academy (Derby, Gloucester or Harlow). This will be for a week, again we will sort out your travel, accommodation and evening meals. You will be staying over for the week and will return home on Friday.

When will this take place?

You will be informed at your induction, there could be a gap between your Induction and the course when you will not be required to attend work.

Do I go on any other training courses?

Yes, every 13 weeks you go back to the Training Academy for the next part of your training, this continues throughout the 2 years of your apprenticeship.

Is there a job at the end of the 2 years?

Yes, normally in the same Centre you’ve been in for your training.
