Go Green

What happens when you Go Green?
In addition to the normal checks, top-ups and replacements that you will get with your Interim or Full Service, Kwik Fit will also:
- Check your brakes to make sure they are operating efficiently and not rubbing, this will help minimise fuel consumption.
- Check emissions for improper gases or an imbalanced mix.
- Check the engine management system to ensure the optimum amount of petrol is sent to the combustion chamber as you drive.
- Add a fuel treatment to your tank that systematically cleans the engine and ensures it burns cleanly and efficiently.
- Pay to offset TWO TONNES of carbon by funding the planting of new woodland in Scotland. This is equivalent to 12 months or 8000 miles of average driving by the average car. Click here to find out more about Kwik Fit and the Environment.
The carbon offsetting is undertaken by Forest Carbon Ltd, a UK-based company that matches companies and landowners in voluntary carbon sink schemes.

How do Kwik-Fit and Forest Carbon help to reduce your carbon impact?
Forest Carbon Ltd is a UK-based company that matches companies and landowners in voluntary carbon sink schemes – this means they make it possible for us to help you reduce your carbon foot print and make a wider contribution to the UK’s environment and countryside.
£8 of the £29 Go Green charge goes directly to Forest Carbon to create and maintain on our behalf a new woodland at Topps Wood in central Scotland (Grid Reference NS750838). The project involves the planting of approximately 12,000 indigenous trees in total – within a 23 hectare site, with 4 principal objectives.
The new woodland will:
- Act as a carbon dioxide absorbing sink
- Act as an atmosphere scrubber - cleaning other pollutants from the local air
- Improve the amenity and biodiversity of the local area, including extending woodland habitats from existing woodland
- Facilitate a programme of educational activity with nearby schools
Your £8 will offset 2 tonnes of carbon dioxide which reduces the climate impact of driving to net zero for an average 8,000 miles or 12 months. Your decision to Go Green at Kwik-Fit will have made it possible for 10 new trees to be planted!
