How Incorrect Tyre Pressure Can Affect Fuel Consumption
How often do you check your tyres? Maintaining the correct tyre inflation is important for several reasons, none more so than safety. Over inflated tyres provide reduced grip and less braking ability as less of the contact patch is connecting with the road. However, under inflated tyres offer not just less grip and a greater chance of a blowout, but also less fuel efficiency meaning more trips to the pump. This is because underinflated tyres generate more rolling resistance, or friction. As a result, your car will need to use more fuel than it would otherwise have to if the tyres were inflated to the recommended PSI.
What's Included in the Esso Free Fuel Saver Check?
The free Fuel Saver Check is exclusive to Esso customers and includes the following items:
Full Tyre Inspection
The full tyre inspection includes checking the tread depth to ensure the tyres all have ample tread remaining and are above the legal limit. Checking all tyre pressures against the manufacturers recommended pressure and inflating where necessary. Finally, the condition of the tyres are checked thoroughly for cuts, bulges, cracks and other damage that can be caused by potholes, road debris and tyre ageing.
Mobil Oil Top Up
The oil level will be checked and topped up with up to 1 litre of Mobil oil, as required. Our technicians will check the manufacturer’s recommended oil specification and top up with the correct Mobil oil product for the vehicle.
In addition, Esso customers who receive their Free Fuel Saver Check from Kwik Fit can also claim a free Michelin tyre pressure gauge after their check is completed.
To claim your free tyre pressure gauge:
- Have your Esso Free Fuel Saver Check completed at any Kwik Fit centre between 1st October 2022 – 30th September 2024.
- Visit www.kwikfitrewards.co.uk/esso-offer and enter your order details so we can validate your booking. You’ll need your order reference number handy. The last date for claims is 31st October 2024.
- We'll send your free Michelin tyre pressure gauge to your delivery address within 30 days of your claim.
Please allow 5 days after the completion of your Esso Free Fuel Saver Check before attempting to claim your free gift.

The free Fuel Saver Check is exclusive to Esso customers and includes the following items:
Applicability – The offer is applicable to Esso customers who booked the Free Fuel Saver Check at www.kwik-fit.com/esso-offer only.
The Free Fuel Saver check includes a free tyre check and a Mobil oil top up, up to 1 litre if necessary. The tyre check includes an examination of the condition of the tyre, tyre tread depth and check of all tyre pressures.
Promotion Period – This offer will be available from 01/10/22 - 30/09/24.
Applicable Centres – Offer applies to any individual retail centre within the Kwik Fit network.
Exclusions – The Mobil oil top up excludes Electric Vehicles, motorbikes and trucks.
