Volvo XC60 Servicing

Volvo XC60 Service

Whether you use your Volvo XC60 for getting comfortably to work, taking the kids to school, or any other reason, be sure to regularly service it if you want to avoid getting caught short by a breakdown. Your local Kwik Fit centre can help.

Servicing your Volvo XC60

As a minimum, we recommend that drivers have their vehicles undertake a Full Service at least once a year (or every 12,000 miles if that's sooner). Our Full Service covers everything from brake checks to electrical safety checks (as well as oil and oil filter changes) to ensure that your XC60 keeps going safely.

For more of an ad-hoc check, we recommend an Interim Service every 6,000 miles. While this doesn't cover as much as the Full Service, it's a great way to get some mid-year peace of mind and prevent any issues from arising early. Our fully trained technicians go through a number of common problem areas - such as the exhaust system, in order to make sure that everything is clean and trouble-free.

For a complete list of what's covered, see our services page.

Why not combine with an MOT?

So why not combine your upcoming MOT with a Full Service at your local Kwik Fit centre? Our fully-qualified technicians run through a comprehensive service before putting your XC60 through an MOT, helping to keep your car's systems clean while saving you time and money.

Volvo Manufacturer Servicing

Volvo usually offers a manufacturer warranty on newer (or approved used) XC60 models, which covers a range of potential faults. This can alleviate a lot of stress and inconvenience in the event of a fault due to a manufacturing error.

So, when servicing your XC60, opt for Manufacturer Servicing at your local Kwik Fit centre. Our fully trained technicians run through the specific procedures used by Volvo when servicing your car, so that your warranties stay valid while your car's systems stay clean.

Servicing for PHEV models

Due to the increasing popularity of PHEV models amongst motorists and car manufactures we also offer PHEV servicing here at KwikFit. As PHEV models work in a similar way to combustion engines, they also require a full service at the same intervals as their standard petrol and diesel counterparts.

What's involved in a PHEV service?

Even though PHEV variants operate in a similar way to internal combustion engine vehicles, if you're looking to service your Volvo XC60 hybrid there are several additional checks that will need to be undertaken as part of a PHEV service.

  • Brake binding check - Regenerative braking is an integral part of how PHEV vehicles operate. However, brake binding can prevent this key mechanism from working as intended, which is why as part of your Volvo XC60 electric service we check for potential brake binding and carry out any repairs if required.
  • Inverter coolant check - Checking for coolant leaks is also an integral and important part of a service on a Volvo XC60 PHEV . However, inverter coolant isn't the same as engine coolant, inverter coolant is required for the energy conversion that takes place between the DC and AC power in the electric motor.
  • Cable check - A visual inspection of high voltage cables will be carried out, the purpose is to check for external damage and ensure all cables are in full working order.
  • Fault code check - This check will ensure there aren't any faults with key components such as the vehicle's battery and all other parts monitored by the vehicle's ECUs (Electronic Control Units).
