The importance which Kwik Fit places on training and development was recognised at the tyre industry’s annual awards on Thursday, with the company receiving the top award for Staff Training and Development Initiative.

The accolade, presented at the National Tyre Distributors Association (NTDA) Tyre Industry Awards, covered both the Kwik Fit apprenticeship programme and the support the company gives in developing the skills of its employees as they progress to more senior roles.  

The award comes on the back of the apprenticeship programme receiving a Grade 1 (Outstanding) ranking from Ofsted, the highest possible grade, and reflects the investment which Kwik Fit has made in its apprenticeship scheme over many years.

Paul Binks, divisional director for people development at Kwik Fit, said: “This award is a resounding endorsement of the time and effort we continually put into our training and development programmes.  We are delighted for everyone involved in making our training programme so effective.  We deliver over 18,000 training days a year through our industry leading training academies, covering everything from the apprenticeships programme to management and leadership training.”
