Citroen Tyres

Although it's easy to forget, your car's tyres are one of the most crucial parts of your vehicle. When it comes to keeping your Citroen on the road, nothing matters more than the quality and condition of its tyres.

Should your Citroen's tyres suddenly get damaged or their tread become thin over time, it is essential for your safety to replace them with new, legal, tyres.

Do I need tyres specifically for Citroen?

The experts at your local Kwik Fit centre will advise you of the most compatible tyres that are the right fit for your Citroen. However, the tyres themselves do not actually have to have been designed for Citroen specifically.

That said, any equipment or tyres that are manufacturer-approved or ;of original equipment standard' are always the best option as they have been recommended by Citroen and are of the highest quality.

Should I opt for premium tyres for my Citroen?

When it comes to choosing a type of tyre for your Citroen it can seem daunting. Each different tyre brand has its own unique set of benefits and costs. Usually, the price ranges from Budget and Mid Range to Premium and Manufacturer Approved.

But which tyres should you choose for your Citroen?

Budget tyres

If your budget is limited, budget tyres (as the name suggests) are the best option. However, as you might have suspected, they are of a slightly lower quality than regular tyres and will need replacing more often. Unfortunately, this will end up costing you more in the long run as a result though.

Premium tyres

Premium tyres, on the other hand, make good use of the technical research conducted by manufacturers such as Pirelli, Goodyear, and Michelin. With this research, they are able to create a more robust, higher-performing tyre compared to budget alternatives. These will need replacing the least often.

Manufacturer-approved tyres

Another option is manufacturer-approved tyres which are specifically developed and approved to meet the requirements of your Citroen. These are tested to ensure that your Citroen can rely on them through all terrains and in all seasons.

If you decide to go for premium or manufacturer-approved tyres, you can expect a higher upfront cost but a lower lifetime cost in the long run because you won't have to replace them as often. Also, premium tyres also have numerous performance benefits such as improved fuel efficiency, braking, and handling.

Other tyre options

Aside from this, you can also pay more for specific tyre features such as run-flat tyres that remain inflated when punctured. Or, alternatively, if you are transporting heavy goods often, extra load tyres may be a good option.
