At Kwik Fit, every one of our services is backed by technology designed for precision and transparency, working to complement our team of trained technicians.
From tyre fitting and wheel alignment to diagnostics and ADAS calibration, specialist equipment plays a central role in how work is carried out across our nationwide network.
Find out more about how we use specialist technology to service, repair, and diagnose issues with your car below.
Advanced wheel alignment with Hunter Hawkeye
Wheel alignment is an essential procedure that helps improve vehicle handling, extend tyre life, and aid fuel economy (or electric vehicle range). In order to accurately measure and adjust vehicle geometry, we use Hunter Hawkeye wheel alignment systems.
- Hunter is widely regarded as an industry standard, for both high accuracy and ease of use.
- It partners with nearly all major OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), ensuring alignment specifications are available across a wide range of vehicles. This allows us to work in line with manufacturer data, rather than relying on estimation.
- The system measures wheel alignment precisely and guides our technicians through the adjustment process. Once completed, ‘geo’ (geometry) reports are printed for customers and can also be photographed and shared through our digital systems, providing a clear record of the measurements taken.
ADAS calibration with Bosch DAS3000
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, known as ADAS, support features such as lane assistance, which rely on precisely positioned cameras and sensors to function.
After procedures such as wheel alignment, suspension repairs, or windscreen replacement, recalibration may be recommended to ensure these systems remain aligned.
- At Kwik Fit, we use Bosch DAS3000 equipment for ADAS calibration. Bosch is a key OEM manufacturer, allowing its tools to offer broad and deep vehicle coverage with OEM-equivalent access.
- Depending on the vehicle and system involved, calibration may involve controlled in-centre procedures and, where required, vehicle-based processes in line with manufacturer guidance.
Calibration reports are produced in our centres and integrated within our network systems for documentation. They can also be photographed and shared through our Vehicle Health Check platform.
Comprehensive diagnostics and battery testing
Modern vehicles contain multiple electronic control units, managing everything from engine performance and braking systems to lighting and comfort functions. To assess these systems accurately, our technicians use Bosch KTS and DCU diagnostic tools for tasks like:
- Resetting service lights
- Supporting brake replacement procedures
- Investigating check engine warning lights
Bosch diagnostic systems are designed to be intuitive to use while offering a wide range of functionality. They support fault code reading, service tasks, calibrations and live data viewing, giving our team a detailed picture of a vehicle’s electronic condition.
We also use Bosch battery testing equipment to provide a reliable assessment of battery health, an increasingly important check as vehicles place greater demand on electrical systems.
Precise tyre pressure monitoring with Bartec 450
Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems, or TPMS, are fitted to modern vehicles to monitor tyre pressure and alert drivers to potential issues. These systems must be serviced during every tyre change, and checked for battery life and correct functionality.
To do so, we use the Bartec 450 tool, which reads and programmes both original equipment and aftermarket TPMS sensors. The system connects directly to our digital platforms, allowing tyre pressure data to be shared clearly with customers as part of a documented inspection record. The equipment is designed to be robust, supporting the demands of busy tyre bays.
Detailed digital inspections with Samsung tablets & custom software
During inspections, our technicians use Samsung tablets and bespoke inspection software, alongside tread depth gauges, to record detailed vehicle and tyre data accurately. This includes:
- Registration and mileage
- Tread depths measured at three points across the width of each tyre
- Tyre size, speed and load rating
- Brand, season and age of the tyre
- Homologation markings or additional tyre technologies, such as Run Flat
- Spare tyre or inflation kit details.
Our technicians can take multiple photographs, to share both positive findings and any advisories or recommendations. Notes and annotations can be added to highlight specific areas of attention. The system also connects with our Bartec TPMS tools, to incorporate tyre pressure information directly into the inspection record.
This structured approach ensures that key safety and performance details are recorded consistently.
Our Vehicle Health Check system
Our Vehicle Health Check, or VHC, brings inspection data together into a clear, accessible report - and is one of our most important tools for transparency.
- If you’re waiting for the work to be done at one of our centres, we’ll use the VHC to support a visual ‘show and tell’ discussion about your vehicle, explaining core findings and diagnoses.
- If you’re not in the centre, the same information can be shared digitally by email or text, providing a documented record to refer to after your visit.
By combining inspection data, images, alignment results and TPMS information into a single report, we provide you with a joined-up view of the vehicle’s condition. Rather than simply describing an issue, we can show measured values and visual evidence to support our recommendations.
Supported by trusted equipment partners
At Kwik Fit, we understand that technology is only as effective as the support behind it. Equipment requires updates, guidance and ongoing technical expertise, particularly as new vehicle models introduce new systems. Supplier support is therefore a key part of our equipment and technology choices.
Support for high standards
Working with established partners such as Hunter, Bosch and Bartec ensures that we’ve always got access to up-to-date specifications, broad vehicle coverage, and ongoing technical backing. This helps us maintain consistent standards across our network of over 600 centres across the UK.
Quality tools for safe servicing
Alongside our diagnostic and calibration systems, high-quality workshop tools support safe and accurate servicing. We equip our centres with Dewalt impact guns, Norbar torque wrenches, vehicle lifts, and jacks. These tools ensure components are fitted to the correct specification - and vehicles are handled safely during maintenance.
Book with confidence at Kwik Fit
The thread running through all our technology choices is accuracy, safety and trust. For our customers, this means informed decisions and greater confidence in the work carried out.
Whether you need new tyres, wheel alignment, ADAS calibration, or a battery check, we’re here to keep you moving safely, with technology and trained technicians working side by side.
