Get Fit Kwik this January with Kwik Fit!
Kwik Fit | Tuesday 5th January 2016 2:40pm
Over indulged this Christmas? Set yourself a resolution to get healthy in the new year? Getting back on the wagon can be tough especially with so many faddy diet plans out there.
If you can’t bear the thought of kale juice, carrot sticks and Lycra this January then Kwik Fit may have the answer. Using our surroundings, we’ve devised a new back-to-basics fitness class that puts the fun back into fitness for the everyday person, using only car and truck tyres. That’s right, now you can get fit kwik, at Kwik Fit!
Fit Kwik is an exercise class that doesn’t take itself too seriously and consists of a series of tyre flips, lifts, throws and other exercises that can help burn up to 1,200 calories in each 30 minute session. Fit Kwik is free to attend and is open to anyone who wants to shift that post-Christmas spare tyre, using our spare tyres!
Created with help from personal trainer Mikah Simpson, Fit Kwik came about after Kwik Fit technicians noticed a link between their strength & fitness levels and lifting heavy tyres on a daily basis. Mikah explains: “There’s no doubt tyres are a brilliant foundation to a work out – not only for lifting, but on the floor during cardio exercises. The most important thing when getting fit is to simply get started and do something you enjoy. We promise to create a fun atmosphere and leave participants feeling that they’ve done something worthwhile.”
Fit Kwik events will take place at our New Kent Road centre in London (SE1 6TU) every Sunday at 9am from 10th – 31st January. If you’d like to give it a go, and maybe shed a few pounds, you can register your interest by emailing polly.cooper@kwik-fit.com
If you can’t make it down to our fitness classes, we’ll be posting instructional videos on our Twitter page over the next few days so you can try the exercises yourself at home. All you need is a spare car tyre.
